Q : Is casual dress permitted in business meetings?

Before I anwser, let's decide "Until what clothes is casual dress".

 

Smart casual is good idiom for explaing limited clothes.I heard "Smart casual" is I can wear formal shoes, jeans, T-shirts, however I can't wear sneakers in Vancouver. In my opinion, the reason why people can't wear sneakers during working time is due to weather of Vancouver. Vancouver is called to "Raincouver". Because the Vancouver rains quite much. If people are wearing sneakers all time, it might decrease own function.

 

In my view, it is okay to wear T-shirt, jeans sneaker, but not Leggings, slippers that meas too much comfortable by themselves. I understand when people wear too much clothes, people might work well or better. But it could make coworkers or people who see their company look like "they are not the best company" or "they do not well-organize". Also it is okay to wear same things in business meetings except from much formal meetings such as big presentation and competition presentation. The business meetings are processing for a long time. When people wear much formal clothes, people can't forcus on meetings anymore than they are exhausted.

 

In conclousion, people can take on Smart casual including sneakers in the business meetings and company.
